The inherited KAKISHIBU coloring since old times!
What is the traditional craft, “KAKISHIBU coloring”?
KAKISHIBU means an astringent persimmon extract. It has used since old times because it has natural effects like waterproof, prevention of decay and insecticide. At first, people pick the fruit of astringent persimmons as they are blue, smash and compress them. After that they stock the extract at a cool and dark place for 2 years in order the extract to ripen. “KAKISHIBU coloring” is traditional coloring. People paint the extract again and again which turns to blown as time passes. The color turns to original and tasteful “KAKISHIBU brown” as they paint it repeatedly.
